Will the Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch Fit a 2016 Ford F-150 to Move a Small Plane

Question:

I only have one specific need for this hitch an that is to pull or push a small airplane in and out of a hangar. Total distance travelled is about 75 feet each direction. There a lots of tow bars to attach to the front of the airplane. I just need the hitch for the truck. Aircraft weight is usually around 2500 lbs. will this do the trick?

Helpful Expert Reply:

As long as the vertical pull (or push) on the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch, # 65067, does not exceed 9,000 lbs. and the vertical weight does not exceed 500 lbs., then you will have no problem using this hitch on your 2016 Ford F-150. It sounds like you will have no problem assuming the plane has at least 3 wheels so there is no tongue weight on the tow bar.

If your to bar uses a standard trailer hitch ball, pintle/lunette or clevis connection, then you may want to check out our ball mount selection that I have linked for you.
