Wiring Harness, Sensor, and Electrical Problems After Installing a Spliced Wire Harness on a Toyota

I had a wire harness put onSpliced with a hitch. 2 years later my relay blew. The transmission locked up electrical issue bypassed by the emergency bypass the back up sensors blew and the tail lights would not work properly. This caused a few hundred dollars in repairs. Toyota wants $400 to put in a toyota harness. The rankings on the product look favorable. It seems somewhat logical that the no splice pass through mechanism is safer than cutting the wires. Is s there any assurance guarantee that this wont re damage my electrical. IS their a fuse to stop a short from advancing through the harness if there is a problem in the trailer?

The item you selected, T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118304, will work on your Toyota.
There is another harness that will protect the vehicles circuits, the Upgraded Heavy Duty Modulite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C59496. This kit only draws .5 milliamps from the vehicle lighting system and uses a circuit protected modulite that is a safe guard from short circuits or wiring shorts. Part # C59496 draws power directly from the vehicle battery, and only draws a small amount of power from the vehicles lighting system. It is a safeguard for the vehicles electrical system as it draws power from the battery to power the trailer lighting. This system is spliced into the vehicle wiring, but just uses the vehicle signal to activate the module to power lighting.
I would recommend going with the Upgraded Heavy Duty Modulite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C59496, for your vehicle to prevent any future problems like the ones you have had in the past.
