What is the Function of the Extra Red Wire that Comes with the Brake Light Relay RM-88400

Question:

After viewing the video for installing the Brake Relay Switch in a Honda CRV the question I have is if there is a need include the extra red wire that is tied to the green wire in the installation when used in conjunction with the Ready Brake system? It would appear optional in that application. If it is not required but optional, what functions would it serve? As an example, could you use that output to power some kind of LED that would illuminate when the brakes were activated?

The extra loose red wire that comes with the brake light relay # RM-88400 attaches to the hot side of any fuse that has power only when the ignition is on. So the red wire from the relay will go into the yellow in line fuse. One end of that extra red wire will go in the other end of the in line fuse. Then the opposite end of the extra red wire will make the connection to the fuse panel using the included fuse tap and spade connector.

The monitor light and wire that tells you that the brake pedal in the vehicle is actually working gets attached to the green wire on the relay.
