Can a Factory Transmission Cooler Be Bypassed by a Supplemental One

Question:

I have read a lot about the two chambers in my radiator leaking into each other. Coolant getting into transmission fluid and vice versa. This happened to my XTerra and I had to replace my transmission. I now have a 2012 Armada and dont want to go through that again. If I install one of your external Transmission fluid coolers, do I still have to use the one in the radiator run transmission fluid through it or can I just use the external cooler and not run the fluid through the factory radiator? I want to isolate the two fluids, coolant and transmission fluid, from each other. Thanks,

You can definitely bypass the factory cooler of your 2012 Nissan Armada with a supplemental one like the part # D13502. You would just route the fluid through it and then back to the transmission.

A better option would be a larger cooler like the part # D13504 since this will be the only cooler you would have.
