Universal Towing Mirror Recommendation for 1996 Toyota Tacoma

Does the #CM11980 mirror fit on the top lip of the Toyota 1996 Tacoma mirror?

As we haven't yet done a test fit, I couldn't say for certain if the # CM11980 mirror would fit your 1996 Tacoma, although from the photo you provided, it looks like you have plenty of available lip at the top of the mirror to provide a good mounting spot for the # CM11980 mirror .

That being said, the K-Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror, part # KS3891 is what I'd recommend. The K-Source Universal mirrors attach to the factory mirror using two ratcheting rubber straps that do an excellent job of holding the towing mirror securely to the factory mirror. When it comes to a universal mirror that straps to the factory mirror, the biggest thing you're looking to avoid is vibration. As you can see by looking through the customer reviews of this product, the vibration they've all experienced is minimal, which is why this mirror is so highly rated.
