Brake Controller Wiring Functions to Install on a 1990 Dodge D250 Pickup

Question:

I have a 1990 Dodge D250 with existing seven way in the bed for fifth wheel and one also on the bumper. I bought the pigtail for my Prodigy P3 and need to connect it up to four disconnected wires. I have a white on the negative side of my battery and know where that goes. I have a red with an inline fuse, so assume that is for power. I have a blue that comes all the way from the back of the truck and connects into the plugs. I have another red that disappears under the dash near the brake pedal. Your plug has a blue brake output and a red stop, besides the two obvious connections. Can you assist me with which of those should hook up to my two wires and if not, would I ruin the Prodigy if I am wrong with my 50/50 guess and hooked up those two wires backwards?

The red wire that disappears under the dash of your 1990 dodge D250 pickup is input from the brake switch and will go to the red wire on the brake controller. Blue is output to the trailer brakes and connects to the blue wire on the brake controller.

White is ground as you know and connects to the controller white wire and the fused red wire is for power which connects to the black brake controller wire. If you had switched the other red wire and the blue wire nothing would have happened so it would not have damaged the controller.
