Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Towing 5000 lb Trailer
Question:
I am towing my bass boat with a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with a tow capacity of 5000lbs. When the trailer is attached, I measure 21inch from the top of the trailer tongue to the ground, which is right within the range recommended by Triton for my model boat and trailer. The front end of my SUV appears to be raised up by the weight of the trailer/boat, and steering while in tow seems to be affected. Steering is less responsive and I find myself making more steering corrections.Any suggestions would be welcome.

Sounds like your trailer has quite a bit of tongue weight and is affecting the way your 2014 Nissan Pathfinder handles when towing. The best solution for this is a weight distribution system that will help distribute some of that tongue weight up to the front axle of the tow vehicle. You do need to check to make sure you aren't exceeding the towing capacities of your vehicle as well.
Since you have a boat trailer which has a pole tongue you will need the adapter part # RP3280 since WD systems are designed to mount to A-frame trailers.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
Your loaded tongue weight is going to be between 500 and 750 lbs so the best WD system we offer for that would be the # RP66083 which features sway control that works to stop sway before it starts.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
