When Installing A Hitch On A 2010 Lexus RX350 What Is Trimmed And How Much
Question:
For the Lexus 2010 RX 350 it says that the rubber fascia must be trimmed. Where is that located? Is it noticeable? How much is removed? Is it the same on the installation of the Hidden Hitch 87569.

Expert Reply:
The Draw-Tite Class III Hitch, # 75676, and the Curt Class III Hitch, part # C13143, are the same hitches, so the installation will be the same on your 2010 Lexus RX350.
There is an appearance panel underneath the rear of your vehicle that has to be removed and a 5 inch X 8 inch section cut out of the rear of the panel for the Draw-Tite, and a 6 inch x 4 inch section for the Curt. After the panel is trimmed it is reinstalled on the vehicle. It is not really noticeable unless you lean down to look for it under the rear of your vehicle.
I am including a video detailing the installation of both hitches so you can see what panel and how it is trimmed.
For towing you will also need the Draw-Tite Ball Mounts, # 2923, the Pin and Clip, # PC3. The hitch ball will be either the Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball, # 19247, or the Tow Ready 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball, # 19260.
If your Lexus has the factory tow package then the wiring harness would be the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 56083. If your vehicle does not have the factory tow package then you will use the Tow Ready T-One Connector Harness, # 118478. I am sending links to the instructions on the wiring harnesses.
