Recommendation for Transporting Lawnmower and Weed Eater with 2015 Chevrolet Camaro
Question:
My son has a 2015 Camaro v6 with a manual transmission. Hes mowing yards and need a way to haul the lawnmower. I was thinking about buying one of your hitches and using one of your receiver cargo carriers. Do you think this will be too heavy for the hitch? The lawnmower weighs about 90lbs and the only other thing on the carrier would be a weed eater.

The best recommendation I can make for your son to carry a lawnmower and weed eater with his 2015 Camaro is to install a trailer hitch and use a small trailer.
As long as the Camaro is not the ZL1 or Z/28 model, the vehicle has a tongue weight capacity of 100 pounds with a towing capacity of 1,000 pounds. Based on the 90 pound weight of the lawnmower, carrying the mower and weed eater on a hitch mounted cargo carrier will be too heavy for the vehicle.
If the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro is a Coupe without Ground Effects, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I Receiver Hitch # 24850. The recommended drawbar for this hitch is # 3594.
If the Camaro is a Convertible without Ground Effects, the only hitch option is the Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11222. The Curt hitch will require the use of a stabilization strap # 18050 when used with all non-trailer loads, like bike racks or cargo carriers.
When towing a trailer, you will also need a wiring harness to signal the trailer's lights. You can use the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59496 to provide a 4-Way flat connector.
A hitch ball is also needed to tow a trailer. The drawbar included with the 60266 hitch uses a hitch ball with a shank diameter of 3/4 inches, like # 19256.
I have attached a help article on parts needed to tow a trailer, as well as tips on towing a trailer for you. The installation instructions for the trailer hitches and wiring harness are also linked.
