Recommendation for a Trailer Jack with Easy to Maneuver Caster Wheel

Question:

My trailer jack caster wheel does not swivel when there is a heavy load at the front of my trailer. Do they make a detachable caster that has bearings or something? Every one that I see uses washers for the swivel action.

To recommend a replacement replacement caster for your jack I would need the jack model number. If you would like to replace the jack on your trailer the easiest to maneuver style of jack is one with an independent caster wheel like the Weld on Fulton Trailer Jack, item # F1413050334 or the bolt on model Fulton Trailer Jack, item # F1413040134. These jacks utilize the same style of non-stick washer for the swivel action of the wheel.

In my experience any jack caster that is weighted down does not spin as readily when maneuvering a trailer by hand. I have found that raising the front of the trailer with the jack, never exceed 1/2 of the full height extension of the jack, to alleviate some of the tongue weight on the jack will help maneuver the trailer more easily.
