Will Trailer Leaf Springs with Taller Spring Stack Raise the Height of a Trailer

Question:

I have a travel trailer that I replaced the 15inch tires with 16inch tires and wheels. That reduced the distance between the top of the tire and the wheel well to about 2 inches. I have seen evidence of the tires rubbing against the wheel well. The trailer is 14 years old and I would like to replace the springs. The currently have Dexter #072-025-00 2600 lb. springs. The specs indicated that your Redline 3000 lb. 5 leaf spring would fit. The stack height would increase from 1.5 inches to 3 inches. Would this work in my application and give me the increase ride height in the wheel well?

If the springs on your trailer are also 14 years old then they have probably flattened out a bit and that could have lead to the tires rubbing the fenders more so than switching to a larger tire size. Going with new springs will certainly help.

If the # e34SR spring has the right measurements and capacity then it will work well and provide ample clearance between the tires and fenders.
