What Would Cause a Bumper Pull Trailer to Move Forward and Back On Hitch Ball
Question:
I have a 1987, 14ft single axle, camper. My question is will the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW help cut down on the back and forth rocking when hitting bumps? I have had no problem with the right to left swaying but banging against the ball was un-nerving. Thank you for your input.

You really shouldn't be experiencing back and forth movement in the coupler of your trailer. You should make sure you have the correct size hitch ball. Or the coupler latch may need some adjustment.
You can pretty easily test to see if your ball is too small or the coupler isn't latching properly by first latching the coupler onto the ball like you normally would and then use the jack to raise the tongue of the trailer. If the coupler comes right off the ball then either scenario I mentioned is happening and you should NOT tow at all until you address the issue.
Email me back an let me know what you find.
