Trailer Tire Recommendation in ST235/80R16 Load Range E

Question:

I have been using Goodyear marathon ST235/80R16 load range E for the last 10 years. I like these tires a lot and do not want to lower my standards to a cheap tire. I am looking for a replacement tire of same quality or better that is more available. NOT just the one your selling. A true comparison. 95 PSI seams extreme as the marathon uses 65PSI and holds up just fine. 2007 40 ft Jayco Recon ZX fully loaded triple axle. 15,000 lb with Harley, gear, water, food and who knows what else.

A lot people use the Goodyear tires. We also hear a lot of problems with them but that usually is a result of under inflation which is a problem for any trailer tire. Carlisle makes a good tire too. And Taskmaster, # TTWTRTM2358016E, which we do carry is a solid performer as well. There are some trailer manufacturers that use Taskmaster as their OEM tires.

Taskmaster tire # TTWTRTM2358016E is a 235/80-16 load range E tire rated for 3,520 pounds at 80 psi. It also has an M speed rating which is 81 miles per hour. It also carries a 2-year limited warranty.

The thing about trailer tires is that they should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire. This is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall than passenger vehicle tires and if under inflated the trailer tires will generate excessive heat and lead to failure. Just something to keep in mind! I have included a link to our help article on trailer tires for you.
