No-Drill 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Install Kit for 2014 Ram 1500 Short Bed with Curt 5th Wheel Hitch

I am looking for 5th. wheel mounting brackets for my Dodge 1500 Ram Big Horn. It has a 6ft. 4in. box. I prefer not to drill through the truck frame if possible. I have a Curt 15K Stationary System with rails from previous truck.

If your rails are also Curt rails then you can use bracket kit # C16306 on your 2014 Ram 1500 short bed. However, with this kit there is some frame drilling required.
The reason that I mention the Curt kit is because if you have Curt rails then you will need to use Curt brackets. Manufacturers do not test their brackets/rails with other manufacturers brackets/rails. This makes the capacity unknown, voids the warranties, and there can be some compatibility issues.
My recommendation is to install a new kit so you won't void warranties and so you know that everything is compatible. For a custom kit that does not require frame drilling use # DM8552030-71. The rails will accept the Curt 5th wheel hitch.
The other issue is that your truck has a short bed but the hitch is a fixed hitch. This means that you will not be able to make tight turns without the trailer hitting the truck. Your Curt hitch might be able to have a slider base installed to compensate for the short bed. If the hitch is an E16 or Q16 then use # C16560. For the Q20 use # C16550. For the Q24 use # C16570.
