Trailer Wiring Recommendation to Use with Draw Tite Hitch for 2013 Toyota Venza
Question:
I have a 2013 Toyota Venza. I recently purchased a popup camper that weighs only 1300 lbs. I need to order a hitch and wiring. The hitch is an easy choice, a draw-tite class III. The camper has a 7 pin connector but does not have electric brakes, but I would like to be able to trickle charge the campers battery while in transit. Could you please recommend what wiring that I need. Thank You

For trailer wiring for your 2013 Toyota Venza you will need to start with a 4-way to provide the turn signal functions. For that you would need the part # 118482. Since you don't have trailer brakes you would then want the part # 37185 to convert the 4-way to a 7-way.
To activate the 12 volt accessory circuit you will want to run a length of 10 gauge wire part # 10-1-1 through a circuit breaker like part # 9510 to the positive post of your battery. The wire to use on the # 37185 is the black one.
The Draw Tite hitch part # 75663 that you referenced is a great hitch to use as well.
Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
