Tow Bar Lighting Recommendation for a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I need help with a problem for towing. I have a 2005 Fleetwood Bounder, it has amber lights for turn signals and red for brake and tail lights. My tow is a 2005 wrangler with turn, stop and tail lights all together. My motor home has a seven blade trailer connection, my wrangler is set up with a four wire round connection to the tail lights. how do I go from seven blade to four wire round. Thank you,

Even though your RV has separate taillights from the turn signals it is almost guaranteed that the trailer connector has the taillight circuits combined. You can test this with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to be sure. The pins that light up with the brake lights should also blink with the blinker(s).

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.

Check out the help article I attached as well. I also attached an install video that shows a similar kit being installed in a similar Wrangler.
