How to Measure a Trailer Rim
Question:
how do I measure a wheel, it is a 5 bolt pattern, and 14 inch

Let's first start with measuring the bolt pattern. If a hub or wheel has an odd number of holes/studs then you measure from the center of one hole to the center point between the 2 holes across from it. If it had an even number you would measure center to center across the hub.
If you measure from the center of one hole to the center of the hole next to it and you get 3-1/4 inches then it would be a 5 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. You are trying to determine the bolt pattern when taking these measurements.
The width of a trailer wheel is measured from the inner edge of a bead to the inner edge of the other bead.
I have included links to three FAQ articles below on the other important measurements for trailer wheels and tires.
