Should trailer safety chains be crossed or parallel with the vehicle? enclosed trailer hauling a Porsche 911.

Safety chains on trailers should be crossed under the trailer tongue. The idea is that if the coupler pops off of the ball the safety chains will catch it so it doesn't drag on the ground. We have numerous safety chain parts available and I have included a link to them for you.

You would not use straps such as # BDW20230 since straps are not rated for this application. The safety chains you use should have a capacity that at least meets if not exceeds the gross trailer weight.
