Does Skid Plate have to be Removed or Any Trimming to Install a Front Hitch on 2006 Toyota Sequoia
Question:
Can the OEM skid plate be used with this front mount hitch? Are there any modifications that need to be made to the vehicle other than bolt on of the hitch, ie. drilling, cutting, etc. Thanks

For the Draw-Tite front mount hitch, # 65031, the skid plate will have to be permanently removed to install the hitch. You would also need to drill two holes in the frame rails (one on each side for the rear most hitch attachment points). I have included a link to the installation details and a video install on a similar vehicle below.
I spoke with my contact at Curt about their front mount hitch, # 31180. To install it, you will not have to remove the skid plate. You will need to enlarge the tie down loop holes in the splash guard. Using aviation shears, you will need to trim 1 inch of material towards the front of the vehicle frame so the hitch can mount flush to the frame. You will also need to drill two holes (one on each frame rail for the front most attach points). I have included a link to the installation details for this hitch as well.
