Question:

We have everything you need to tow your small trailers with your 2016 Mazda CX-5. I have listed all of the parts that I recommend below.

Class II Trailer Hitch - # C12170
4-Flat Wiring Harness - # 118563
Adjustable Ball Mount - # MT70068
Hitch Ball - # 63845 (2in.) # 19260 (1-7/8in.)
Hitch Pin - # PC3

To start, you will need a trailer hitch. I recommend the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch, # C12170, because it will have more than enough capacity for the CX-5 and the trailers. The towing capacity of your vehicle will vary depending on how it was equipped, but it looks like the max towing capacity will be around 2,000 lbs. Be sure to check your owners manual for your models specific capacity because you will be limited by the towing capacity of the vehicle.

Next, you will need a wiring harness and I recommend the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118563 because it will work on all models of the CX-5.

The last items you will need are a ball mount, hitch ball and pin and clip. Since you will be towing different trailers, I recommend looking into an adjustable ball mount like part # MT70068 because it eliminates the need to buy multiple ball mounts, hitch balls and pin and clips. You can easily adjust the height of the ball to suit you needs. For a hitch ball, you can use # 63845 for a 2 inch ball or # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. For a pin and clip, I recommend # PC3 for a standard pin or # e98880 for a locking hitch pin.

I have linked all of the parts for you to check out. I have also linked installation and demonstration videos of these products for you.
