Does the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Fifth-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter CAB-C5G Have to Bolt to Pin Box
Question:
I recently purchased a 5th wheel which already had the adapter installed. I was surprised to see that the base plate which sits up against the 5th wheel flat plate had only 2 bolts connecting it to the flat plate. I see in your video that no bolts were used through the base plate into the flat plate?? Are they really not required? I was hoping you could email me some installation instructions so I can feel confident that this has been installed properly. I also need to adjust the height as my truck sits up fairly high and I need to know the torquing specifications.

You can use the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Fifth-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter, # CAB-C5G, without bolting them to the pin box on your fifth wheel trailer. This makes the adapter fairly easy to move from trailer to trailer without having to modify the trailer pin boxes.
These adapters can be bolted on to your pin box for added security or if you are planning on using it on a more permanent basis, but bolting or drilling is not necessary for use.
I attached a picture of the install instructions for you to check out as well.
