Horse Trailer Tire Recommendation to Replace a 7.50 x 16 inch Bias Ply

I have a gooseneck stock trailer that will hold 4 horses. I pull it with a Ford F350 diesel. Its a pretty heavy duty constructed trailer. My problem is, I dont seem to get very good tire mileage out of my trailer tires, and get frequent flats from miscellaneous crap on the roads I drive. Living in the Colorado mountains, I drive a lot of rough gravel roads, but sometimes take a road trip, where the speed limit is 65mph. Im disappointed with the tires Ive been getting from the local outfit. I would like to get some tires that will hold up more than 3000 miles or so. I am running 7.50 x 16inch bias ply, 10 ply tires. I think the trailer manufacturer said to inflate the tires to 75 psi, but Ive been running 70 psi, as I thought I might not get as many flats. Do you think I should run the tire pressure up to 75psi? What tire would you recommend? Do you think I could put a 14 ply tire on my standard rims? Would that help with the flats?

With trailer tires you want to always run them at their max psi so that you ensure that you get the full weight capacity out of them as well as so you reduce heat build-up which can also cause tire failure.
For a tire to replace your 7.50 x 16 inch bias ply I would highly recommend the # TTWPRG235R16. This is a radial tire, is a Load Range G, and also has a 81 mph speed rating. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.
A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear.
A radial tire will normally run cooler than a bias ply tire, especially when the tire is under a load. A tire that runs cooler will last longer.
