Recommended Trailer Tire to Replace LT 7.50-16

Question:

Current tires on my trailer are LT 7.50-16. I had tread come apart on a trip on one and am going to replace all 4. Can I put ST235/85R16 on it instead? Or is the ST235/80R16 the correct size? How can you tell if you have the clearance for one size vs the other? Thanks,

The Taskmaster Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range G, item # TTWPRG235R16, is the closest tire to the 7.50-16LT tire that we have. Your tire has an overall height of 31.8 inches and a section width of 8.4 inches. The # TTWPRG235R16, tire has and overall height of 31.73 inches and a section width of 9.25 inches.

The Taskmaster tire is great too because it has a higher speed rating than most trailer tires at 81 mph instead of 65.

You will be alright on height but you will need to check your trailer to be sure that the 1 inch or so greater width will work.
