2016 Ford Explorer Platium Brake Controller Install Connector Location
Question:
I have a 7 pin at the hitch and all of the wiring is in the harness I can see the blue wire in my 2016 ford explorer platinum. Where is the connection for the electric brake controller under the dash? I can see the fuse box to the far left. Shouldnt there be a point where I can connect the electric controller to? My dealer has been no help with this. In fact, they told me that there is no wiring from the plug?! Thanks for your help. I plan on purchasing a controller when I get the plan worked out what I need. Thank you

Since you have the factory 7-way at the rear of your 2016 Ford Explorer all you need to install a brake controller like the P3 part # 90195 that you referenced is the correct install harness, part # 3035-P.
The Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer have 6-pin connectors behind the glove box on the passenger's side that the install harness will need to plug into. You will open the glove box, push in the two tabs it rests on to get it to open further and the connector is buried on the left hand side, close to the center console.
Sometimes it can also be located above the parking brake.
