Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 9,500 Pound Pole-Tongue Boat Trailer

Question:

Im looking for a weight distributing hitch for my boat trailer. I have an aluminum I-beam triple axle trailer rated for 10,500lbs. Im carrying a 7000lb 29ft boat. Weighed myself last year and Im around 9500-9600lbs when loaded. I have a pole tongue as well. Any recommendations for which hitch best suits my setup.

For your pole-tongue boat trailer, I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution with Sway Control # RP66561. To fit this weight distribution system to your trailer, you will want the Reese Pole-Tongue Adapter for Weight Distribution Systems # RP58393.

The Reese system uses spring-bar hangers with integrated friction pads to help reduce trailer sway. The trunnion bars help distribute the load of the trailer while providing better ground clearance than more traditional-style round bars. This weight distribution system will work great with the pole-tongue adapter to provide weight distribution and sway control for your boat trailer.

The # RP66561 system is rated for trailers with tongue weights between 700 pounds and 1,400 pounds, and it has a gross towing weight capacity of 14,000 pounds. When mounted on top of the trailer tongue, the pole-tongue adapter # RP58393 has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 1,400 pounds and a gross towing weight of 14,000 pounds. This adapter is the heaviest pole-tongue adapter we offer.

The weight distribution system requires the use of a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch diameter shank, like part # C40030.

I have attached a review video of the Reese Weight Distribution system # RP66561 for you. The installation instructions for the weight distribution and adapter are also attached.
