Can Elbow Connector For Firestone Air Suspension Be Re-Used
Question:
2 1/4inch NPT National Pipe Thread elbow fittings,.....Can I reuse these fittings? any trick to getting the old line out? Per the instructions included with the air suspension system, the airline tubing can easily be removed from the fittings by exhausting all the pressure in the air springs and then pushing the collar towards the body of the fitting and then, with a gentle pull, remove the airline tubing.

Helpful Expert Reply:
You should not have any problem re-using a fitting like part # F3031-1.
You will want to make sure it has not been damaged or worn and that the threads are free of corrosion and debris when using it again. You may want to use a wire brush and use Teflon tape or a sealant to make sure you prevent air leaks.
