Hitch, Trailer Wiring and Brake Controller Recommendations for 2016 Kia Sportage
Question:
I have a 2016 Kia Sportage. I need an entire tow package, hitch, controller, and wiring for a 7 pole connector. I only see 4 pole flat connectors with the harnesses.

Beginning with the hitch, I'd recommend the Curt Class III, part # C13120. The hitch is has a higher tongue weight capacity than the Hidden Hitch or Draw-Tite, and is competitively priced. You'll also need a ball mount, part # AMSC2 and a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260 or a 2 inch ball # 63845, depending on what the trailer's coupler calls for.
To wire the trailer, you'll need to start with a 4 pole connector part # 118526. You'll also need our Brake Controller Installation KIt part # ETBC7 and a brake controller like the Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is a proportional controller, which can sense how quickly the tow vehicle is stopping. It will then send enough voltage to the trailer brakes so the trailer and tow vehicle brake at the same rate. This provides for very effective, safe and predictable braking.
I'll link you to instructions for the ETBC7 install kit, as well to some FAQ articles and install videos that I'm sure you'll find helpful.
