Actually the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR that you referenced comes with a breakaway system and does not require an additional one to be installed/used.

I noticed you have a 2013 Honda CR-V. I attached an install video that shows the Patriot being installed in a 2014 CR-V that is similar to yours.
