Does The Brake Buddy Classic 3 Require Splicing Into Towed Vehicle's Brake Light Wiring
Question:
I have been looking at the Brake Buddy Classic. I have two questions. Does this unit require wiring into the brake light wiring other than the Brake -lite relay? In some of the product pictures there appears to be some sort of radio controller. Is this part of the Classic or the model?

I am happy to answer all of your questions about the Brake Buddy Classic 3 Supplemental Braking System part # HM39494. The Brake Buddy Classic 3 uses a built-in inertia sensor to detect when the motor home is braking then the the actuator arm will depress the towed vehicle's brake pedal.
The only wiring you have to do with the Brake Buddy Classic 3 is to wire to the towed vehicle's battery for power. One end of the included harness connects to the vehicle's battery and the other end plugs into a connector that mounts below the dash in the towed vehicle.
The radio controller that you mention is the Wireless Alert System it basically monitors the braking of the towed vehicle and illuminates when there is braking activity so that you know it is working. In the terrible event that the towed vehicle may break away from the motor home, the wireless alert system will sound. The original brake buddy did not come with this system.
You are correct when you reference the Brake-lite relay, it is needed with the 2015 Ford F-150 so that your truck's brake signals do not override the RV signals. It will allow the lights on your truck and the motor home lights to flash in conjunction.
