Roof Rack and Ski/Snowboard Rack Recommendation for 2015 Audi Q7

Question:

I have a 2015 Audi Q7 with flush mount side rails. I am looking for bars to go across my roof so I can get ski racks or a luggage carrier. I am also looking for a ski rack. Can you recommend the best bars and necessary accessories? Based on your recommendation: 1. Are theses bars easily installable and removable? 2. Can you open and close the panoramic sunroof? Can you also recommend the best rack for snowboard? 1. Based on the height of the cross bars and rack can you put a snowboard upside down with the bindings hitting the roof? How many snowboards can this rack hold? Thanks!

For your 2015 Audi Q7, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA126B-2 and SRB Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRSX027. The aerodynamic design of these crossbars helps to reduce wind noise and drag. This is our most popular roof rack for the Q7 with flush side rails.

These crossbars clamp to the side rails on your vehicle. They are easy to install and can be removed whenever needed. I have attached a video of these crossbars on a 2014 Volvo XC60 with flush mount side rails for you to have an idea of how the crossbars install.

It is not recommended to use a sunroof while the crossbars are installed if the sunroof increases the height of your vehicle's roof when retracted.

For a ski/snowboard carrier, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Locking Ski and Snowboard Carrier # RR576. This carrier will allow you to carry up to 6 skis or 4 snowboards on your roof rack. This kit will mount inside the channel on the top of the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero crossbars and also includes mounting hardware for use with other roof racks. The Rhino-Rack # RR576 measures 3-5/8 inches clearance over the crossbars for bindings. I have attached a video of the # RR576 carrier for you.
