Electric A-Frame Trailer Jack to Replace a Manual Jack when Installing Weight Distribution

Question:

Im finding harder and harder to use the manual crank jack on our aframe trailer to hitch up to the Reese RP66151 WDH. Tongue weight of fully loaded trailer is about 480 pounds. Will the Stromberg Carlson Jet 2500 be powerful enough to lift both trailer tongue and Jeep back end enough to slip the spring bars onto the perches? BTW, this is a great WDH, easy to use and truly improves handling of Jeep tow unit and trailer on gravel roads.

The electric A-Frame trailer jack # JET-2500 is rated for 2,500 pounds. The rear of your vehicle is compressing its own suspension some so really the jack would not be lifting the full weight of the rear of the vehicle so this jack would work.

With that said the higher capacity jack you go with the easier it will be for the jack and the longer it will last. I recommend stepping up to the 3,500 pound model, # JET-3755. For better performance and longevity.
