7-Way Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2005 Chevy Tahoe Without Any Trailer Wiring
Question:
contrary to everything I have read. There is NO trailer harness connector above my spare. What product do I need to wire in given this condition?

To install a 7-way on your 2005 Chevy Tahoe will require you to first install a 4-way if you do not have one. For that you would want the part # C59496. Now the adapter part # 37185 would be all you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way.
If you need to activate trailer brakes you would want the part # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 plus a brake controller.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
