Troubleshooting Wiring Harness On 2004 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

I have part #hm48895. I have hooked up the converter as shown and verified that the converter is receiving signal on all input wires. However the right side turn signal from the converter is not outputting a signal. The weird thing is if I remove the bulb from the right turn signal then the converter works fine. The bulb is good and of the correct type and wattage. Any suggestions? Thanks

It sounds like there may be a short in the wiring for your Tacoma. You can do a quick test by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993.

To see if the converter on the # HM48895 is sending an output signal to the right side, have someone turn on the right turn signal while you use the circuit tester and check the pin on the 4-way connector that the green wire is attached to. If it shows no power check the green wire that is coming out of the converter. If that shows no power, check the wire leading into the converter for power. If there is power going into the converter but not coming out, the converter is bad and will need to be replaced.

I have attached a link to a helpful article you can check out.
