Fifth Wheel Hitch Rail Kit Recommendation for a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 5-1/2 ft Bed

Hi. I have a 2015 gmc Sierra with a 5 ft box. I tried to have my old DSL fifth wheel hitch installed but the new truck has tubular cross beams preventing them from being able to mount the rails in the bed of the truck. Am I goin to have to buy a new kit and if so. What kind should I buy. Thanks wet much!

For your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5-1/2 foot bed you would want the part # RP50064-58 as it is a custom fit rail kit for your vehicle that will provide you with rails for your fifth wheel hitch.

Since your truck bed is shorter than 6 feet in length you will need to use a Sidewinder pin box to give you enough clearance to make sharp turns.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
