There certainly are benefits to increasing the load range of your tires, extra safety margin and reduced heat - since heat is the number one enemy of trailer tires. Changing your triple-axle boat trailer's tires from Load Range C to Load Range D should allow them to run cooler than the lower-rated LR-C tires you have now. This does not mean that the trailer's capacity has increased, since that is a function of the capacities of the tires, wheels, hubs, axles, frame, etc.

Special Trailer (ST) tires should always be inflated to their maximum rated psi pressure as noted on the tire sidewall. The tire cannot deliver its rated capacity unless inflated to the cold tire pressure indicated on the tire. Also, you never want to mix tire types, sizes or ratings. If you use tires that don't match, you could experience problems of overloading and overheating, which can lead to tire failure. Unless specifically rated otherwise trailer tires like the Load Range D Taskmaster # TTWTRTM2157514D should not be operated above 65-mph.
