Weight Distribution for 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 and 6,000 Pound Trailer

Question:

I am looking to purchase a 6000lb dry Keystone travel trailer. Tongue weight estimated at 570lbs before loading. Will the C1750 work for my application? Would you suggest any other model? Any advice is welcome.

Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500 will likely work well for your trailer and 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Since the dry weights are 6,000 pounds and 570 pounds the tongue weight of the trailer will increase once the trailer is loaded. As long as it does not exceed the 1,000 pounds capacity of the Curt system it will work.

For weight distribution, tongue weight is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.

I have included some helpful links on weight distribution and determining tongue weight for you.
