Voyager Brake Controller Indicator Light Goes from Green to Bright Red and Doesn't Change
Question:
I have Mazda 4000 1994 Model Light Truck. When trying to level the sensor I have followed the instructions verbatim. Problem I seem to have arises when I rotate the level knob with the brake pedal depressed and the power knob at clockwise maximum. The Bi-coloured light instantly turns from green to bright red and remains red with NO colour change no matter how far or which way I rotate the level knob. I am there-fore not able to set the controller at level. What can the problem be and what is the solution please? PS. The Van being towed is a dual axle, with brakes on one axle only.

The Voyager brake controller # 39510 is sensitive. If even slightly off level it will misbehave. First, make sure the controller is mounted within the ranged specified in the instructions. The controller cannot be tilted or turned to the side either. If mounted outside its range or tilted/turned it can cause this issue.
The controller might also be sensing a short. Check the vehicle and trailer side connectors and make sure they are clean and free of corrosion inside where the wires attach as well as on the pins.
I have included some links to testing and troubleshooting brake controllers should the problem persist.
