Will Installation of Curt Weight Distribution System # C17063 Affect Turning
Question:
I have a 2002 f250 with the 7.3 diesel engine and pulling a 22 foot car hauler that is rated as a 14,000 lb. trailer. The hitch on the truck is rated 12,500 lbs. with a tongue weight of 1,250 pounds. Will this hitch work for me. Also with this hitch installed are there any difficulties in turning, such as gas stations, from one street to another at a 90 degree turn?

You want to choose a weight distribution (WD) system so that your trailer's fully-loaded tongue weight (TW) plus the weight of anything in the truck that sits behind the rear axle, like a generator or loaded cooler, falls into the middle of the system's operating range. The Curt Weight Distribution System with Friction Sway Control that you referenced, part # C17063, is a round bar system that is suited to a total TW of 1250-lbs.
This system includes everything needed, even the shank and 2-5/16-inch hitch ball, and it is suited to trailers with electric brakes. It is recommended that you remove the included sway control unit before backing up and before towing in slippery conditions such as on wet, icy, gravel-, or snow-covered roads.
You'll want to ensure that your loaded trailer weight does not exceed the 14K maximum gross towing weight rating.
You should have no trouble making your usual turns with the system installed.
