How to Adjust Chains on Curt Weight Distribution System to Stop Grinding Noise
Question:
I have a Curt Weight Distribution hitch that was set up by the dealer when purchased. I now have the chains rubbing against the trailer frame making awful grinding noises. Is there a way to adjust the system to prevent the chains from grinding on the frame when turning?

If you have a Curt Weight Distribution System with chains such as # C17063, there should not be grinding noises when turning coming from the chains and this can be adjusted by switching the links in the lift chains. You can adjust the head tilt for correct chain length. I've attached a photo that shows how the chains should be set up. This comes from the directions, which I've also attached for you to take a look at.

I have the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control - Round Bar - 14K GTW, 1.4K TW. I have noticed that the chain link on one side is almost a full link longer counting from the bottom up. This their something I can do to even the links out or is it nothing to be concerned about?
