If your 2002 Toyota 4Runner did not come with a factory 4-Way trailer connector at the back (regardless of if the harness to plug it into is there or not) then in order to add a 4- and 7-Way you will first need to install a 4-Way, # 118341.
Then to add a 7-Way and retain the use of the 4-Way as well you will need installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation.
For a brake controller if needed I recommend the P2, # 90885. It is one of our most popular controllers because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable.
