How to Determine the Functions of Trailer Wires to Install a New 7-Way Connector
Question:
I have a 10 foot trailer and the only wires are two green, two yellow and one white. I know the white is the ground wire because I see it connected to the frame. The current connector is a 7 way, but it has been broken. How do I know what to connect the green wires and yellow wires to on the new 7 way connector? There are no brakes or back up lights on this trailer.

The easiest way of determining the functions of the wires on your trailer is to apply power to each one individually using a separate 12 volt battery and see what lights up. Then all you have to do is label the wires and attach them to a trailer side 7-Way such as # A7WCB. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
Since there is no standard for wire color and function the wires will have to be tested to determine the functions.
