Recommended Range of Mounting Angle for Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195
Question:
After mounting my P3 using the pocket mount, the controller looks ever so slightly off from recommended horizontal plane maybe a couple of degrees out of line. The problem seems to be caused by a slight curve in the dash. Should I be concerned or is this deviation within an acceptable plus/minus range? The trailer brakes seen to be responding OK but I havent been in any emergency situations.

It is correct that ideally a Prodigy P3 # 90195 brake controller will be mounted exactly level in the horizontal plane as shown in the linked image. However, a very slight deviation such as what you have - a degree or two - will not have a major impact on functionality. Very few vehicle interiors have only straight angles these days. Since your P3 is operating satisfactorily it is within its usable range of mounting angles. Still, you can always put a small shim between the dash and mounting pocket to better level it.
