How to Select Replacement Bearings and Grease Seals for 1984 Shorelander Boat Trailer
Question:
How can I tell what bearing size kit I need to replace the bearings, race, and seal? I cant find anything on the net for trailers that old.

The best way to select replacement bearings, races and seals is to pull one of the hubs and note the part number on the inner and outer bearings and grease seal. As an alternative it is possible to take precision measurements (to three decimal places such as 1.093) using a digital caliper and match those dimensions as a way to find correct replacement seals.
The linked diagram shows the typical appearance of the part numbers and also shows where on the spindle to measure for the seal's inner diameter (B), the inner bearing's inner diameter (C) and the outer bearing's inner diameter (D). The other measurement you will need is of the hub's inner bore where the grease seal installs; this hub bore measurement will correspond to the grease seal's outer diameter.
If you can get the part numbers simply enter each one into our search box to see replacement parts. If you use measurements you can then instead use the linked pages to select parts by matching dimensions using the filters on the pages.
We do kit some common combinations of bearings, races and seals, such as kit # BK2-100 that you referenced, but if we don't offer a kit with all the correct items you can just order the parts individually.
