The correct Curt 4-pole wiring harness for the 2008 Scion xB is their part # 56062. The harness you referenced, part # 56022, is a specified fit for various model years of Nissan Altima, Maxima and Sentra but not your Scion xB.
The issue you describe, one trailer light function going off when another is turned on, can often be caused by a bad ground connection at the harness' white wire with ring terminal. A weak ground can let one function work while others do not. A bad ground can also cause other odd behavior from trailer lights. The LED type lights on your trailer should not be causing this issue.
You can sand or clean the spot where the ground wire attaches to ensure good bare metal to bare metal contact, or you can select a new spot to attach the ground terminal. You can even splice a length of additional wire to the ground and run it right up to the battery where you can connect it to the negative post on the battery. You could use wire like # 12-1-1.
