ST175/80R13 Trailer Tire Recommendation for a Boat Trailer to Replace 185/80R13

Question:

Can I replace 185/80R13 load range C tires on a boat trailer with your Karrier ST175/80R13 load range D tires? I weighed my boat and trailer single axle trailer and it weighs 3000 lbs. My old tires are rated for 1480 lbs or 2960 together. Should I go with the ST 175/80R13 load range D tires? My old tires are like new but have a 2009 DOT date on them. I dont know how old is too old for a tire. I dont want any problems Thanks

From a size point of view you could go from a 185/80R13 to a ST175/80R13. They would only be a tiny bit smaller.

Based on the weight of your trailer and boat I would recommend going with the Load Range D like part # AM10210 as it has a capacity of 1,610 lbs at 65 psi which would be more than you would need.

Typically we recommend replacing trailer tires around 7 years of age.
