Largest Drop Weight Distribution System Shank Availability  

Question:

I have a Reese SC Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Trunnion - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW.I traded my 2014 ram 1500 that the hitch was set up for and got a 2015 ram 2500 4x4. the hitch shank is to short and it is very confusing on what i need, The top of the reciver is 35 inches and the the top of the cuplier is 16 inches at level. What hitch shank do i need? thanks.

That's a pretty low trailer you have. To compute the correct amount of drop you would need you need to measure from the top of the hitch opening to the ground and from the bottom of the coupler to the ground. Based on the dimensions you just gave you would need a drop of 19 inches.

The weight distribution shank we offer that has the most drop is the part # C17125 which can do up to 15-3/4 inches of drop. Since 16 inches from the ground is pretty low for a trailer I am hoping that was either a typo or a mis-measurement.
