The 12-volt accessory power circuit from your 7-way trailer connector is limited in how much power it can deliver to your dump trailer's battery by the alternator's output and the small gauge wire that's typically used to power the circuit as well as the distance that the power must travel.
The accessory circuit can be used to maintain a charged battery, but it does not have enough grunt to charge the battery once it's been discharged. Using shore power and a battery charger like the CTEK # CTEK56353 is the best method of recharging the battery.
The 12 volt accessory circuit on some vehicles is active even when the truck ignition is shut off. In that situation, a power draw from the trailer could conceivably drain the battery on the truck to the point where it can't start the truck. To prevent this, a battery isolation solenoid like part # PK5231201 can be installed. I've linked you to a video showing the solenoid being installed.
