Hitch Adapter to Increase Ground Clearance to Use Tow Ready Cargo Carrier # 63154 on 2015 Odyssey
Question:
I just got a new car: odyssey van 2015..I had on my old car a cargo carrier #63154 20X47 with 1and1/4inch receiver. the new car is lower to the ground, I want to install a new 1and1/4inch receiver, but I need to have a 1and1/4inch hitch adapter so I can raise the cargo rack another 6inch off the ground. and still be able to use my cargo rack. is this available?? thank you

Your 2015 Honda Odyssey can be fitted with either a 1-1/4-inch Class II or a 2-inch Class III hitch. All hitches for your Odyssey can be seen on the link provided. If you want a Class II hitch you can use Curt # C12031 without need for any adapter.
I recommend Curt Class III hitch # C13068 because it has the same 350-lb tongue weight capacity as the other Class III options but it costs less. The written instructions and an installation video are linked for you to review along with a helpful article.
Since you want to keep using your (Discontinued) Tow Ready Cargo Carrier 63154 for 1-1/4-inch hitches along with a 2-inch hitch you can use reducer sleeve # HT02.
You need to subtract the carrier's actual 45-lb weight from the car's tongue weight capacity. You will also want to check your van's owner's manual to confirm its tongue weight rating, which could be less than the hitch's. The lower-rated item determines the overall capacity.
I strongly recommend that you use some type of support strap to help keep the loaded carrier steady in the hitch. This will not only help safeguard your cargo but will also reduce the stresses on the hitch and on the vehicle frame from the carrier load. You can use a simple strap like # 18050 or better yet a pair of ratcheting straps like # EM34410 from Erickson.
