How to Install Weight Distribution Brackets on Trailer Frame That Has Cross Tube Near A-Frame
Question:
I have a 10K Belmont car trailer with a square tube cross member between the A frame channels. It starts at 29inch measured along the A frame from the center of the coupler ball socket. Is this enough length to properly position the lift frame brackets so the chains hang correctly? Thanks

Sometimes trailer frame designs like yours or the presence of propane tanks or other tongue-mounted accessory items on a trailer can interfere with installation of the chain lift brackets for a WD system like the ProSeries # 49570.
Reese, the sister company to ProSeries, offers a simple solution for this issue, their bolt-on chain lift brackets # RP58305. These bolt to the outside edges of the two frame rails and so they will not interfere with your trailer's square cross tube.
Another option, one that does not require drilling into the frame, is the Reese Clamp-On Bracket # RP58306 which measure 8-inches tall x 2-inches wide. These install approximately 31-inches from the center of the coupler.
