Brake Controller And Plug-In Adapter For 2015 Ram 1500

Question:

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 with the factory installed 4 and 7 way connectors at the bumper. Am wanting to purchase your 3024P harness and a P2 or P3 controller. However, I cannot find the plug under the dash to the left of the steering shaft as shown in your pictures. There are 3 plugs to the right by the front of the dash, one of which is 4 way but the wires are red, green, white and red/white if memory is correct. There are two large connectors under the dash to the left wrapped in gray foam but these are in use. Ram dealer wanted $800 to install the OEM brake controller, and told me it was no longer plug and play. Hopefully this is not the case. I could only attach one picture, but have more if of help. Thanks.

You do have a port for connecting the plug-in adapter for a brake controller under your dash. This is typically found under the dash to the left of the console. The attached photo shows the connector.

The P2, part # 90885 or P3, part # 90195 brake controllers are both very good controllers and our most popular because they are easy to install and operate.

The plug-in adapter to use with these brake controllers is part # 3024-P. One end simply plugs into the back of the brake controller and the other into the port you have under the dash. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the pins on the port. One pin should show power all the time and one should show power only when the brake pedal is pressed.
